Tricia Underwood (MSN, CFNP) is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She received her Master of Science degree in Nursing with a concentration as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Prior to coming to Athens Medical Group, Underwood served as a McMinn County public health nurse, worked as a Registered Nurse at Cumberland Hall Psychiatric Hospital in Chattanooga and the emergency room at Bradley Memorial Hospital.

She is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, and the Tennessee Nurses Association. She is American Red Cross Disaster certified, CPR instructor certified, as well as a volunteer for the Good Faith Clinic.

As a nurse practitioner, Underwood is trained in patient evaluation, physical examination, diagnosis and treatment of simple acute and chronic illnesses.
